Eighth Grade Supply List

Below is a list of supplies students will need for the first day of school. These supplies are needed throughout the school year, so some may need to be replaced periodically.

School-aged children must be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, rubella, mumps, hepatitis B, and varicella. All students entering 8th grade will need documentation that a meningococcal immunization AND Tdap booster immunization have been obtained.

All students will need the following supplies - any brand is acceptable. 

General supplies:
1 pencil case
6 blue or black pens
6 boxes #2 pencils (will need to be replenished throughout the year) ❏ colored pencils
markers
1 pack highlighters
2 dry erase markers
4 glue sticks, regular sized
1 package of 3x5 notecards
1 package lined paper
1 pair of wired earbuds or headphones
1 computer mouse (wired or wireless)
1 package graphing paper
Athletic shoes for physical education

Supplies to be given to the student’s Statesmen Time teacher:
2 boxes of tissues
1 container of disinfectant wipes for surfaces (students with last names A-L)
1 bottle of hand sanitizer (students with last names M-Z)

ELA 8
1 composition notebook with lined paper

Math 8
1 2-pocket folder
1 graphing composition notebook
1 scientific calculator (non-graphing) Texas Instrument 30-XIIS or 30XS work well
4-6 dry erase markers (given to teacher)

Algebra
1 three-ring binder
1 graphing composition notebook

Geometry

Depending on your child’s schedule, the following additional supplies may need to be purchased.

Art
2 wooden pencils (#2 Ticonderoga brand works well)
3 plastic grocery bags to store clay
Old shirt or apron (Optional)

Band
Tradition of Excellence, Book 3
Concert attire: solid black pants or skirt with solid white shirt or blouse

Computer Science
1 one-subject notebook

Choir
1" or 2" 3-ring binder
Students will need nice clothes and shoes that are all black for concert attire. This could be a button-up shirt and long pants, a dress with black leggings or tights, a shirt and skirt with black leggings or tights, a button-up shirt and long pants with a tie and/or a vest/suit jacket. All shoes should be black flats/dress shoes that are not heels or sneakers.

Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS)
1 box quart-sized zipper seal bags (Ziploc type)

Learning Strategies
1 composition notebook with lined paper

Orchestra
Essential Technique for Strings 1, 2, or 3 (specific to the instrument your child plays and the orchestra class)
Concert dress: solid black pants or skirt (below the knees) with solid black shirt or blouse
Folding music stand
Violin/viola shoulder bar
Cello/bass rock stop

Shop
1 single subject spiral notebook
1 black permanent marker (Sharpie type)
1 pocket folder (with prongs preferred)
2 packs of wooden #2 Pencils (12/pk)

World Languages (French, German, Spanish)
1 spiral notebook
1 two-pocket folder
1 pack of index cards
3 dry erase markers

PLEASE NOTE: All supplies must be latex-free. This is for the safety of all students in the building. Any products containing latex will not be allowed in the building for use before, during, or after school.

Request from the counseling department: If you have any tinker, fidget, or stress toys you are able to donate to the counselors, our students would appreciate it! We will also gladly accept tissue box donations.
