Sixth Grade Supply List

Below is a list of supplies students will need for the first day of school. These supplies are needed throughout the school year, so some may need to be replaced periodically.

School-aged children must be immunized against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, polio, measles, rubella, mumps, hepatitis B, and varicella.

All students will need the following supplies - any brand is acceptable. 

Supplies that stay with the student:
1 expanding file folder with zipper (similar to this one)
2 composition notebooks with lined paper
1 spiral one-subject notebook
1 spiral three-subject notebook
1 package loose leaf paper
1 package of notecards
6 boxes #2 pencils (will need to be replenished throughout the year)
colored pencils
1 pencil case
1 handheld pencil sharpener
6-10 large glue sticks
1 scientific calculator (non-graphing), Texas Instrument 30-XS or 34 work well
1 pair of wired earbuds or headphones
1 computer mouse (wired or wireless)
Athletic shoes for physical education
Supplies to be given to the student’s ELA teacher:
1 package of 3x3 post-its
Supplies to be given to the student’s Statesmen Time teacher:
2 boxes of tissues
1 container of disinfectant wipes for surfaces
1 bottle of hand sanitizer 
1 roll of paper towels

PLEASE NOTE: All supplies must be latex-free. This is for the safety of all students in the building. Any products containing latex will not be allowed in the building for use before, during, or after school.

Depending on your child’s schedule, the following additional supplies may need to be purchased.

STEAM Wheel
2 wooden #2 pencils (Ticonderoga brand works well)
1 composition notebook
1 pack of post-its
2 repositionable glue sticks
1 empty 2-liter plastic bottle

Humanities Wheel
1 box quart-sized zipper seal bags (Ziploc type) for FACS
One-subject notebook for Music Discovery

Band
Tradition of Excellence, Book 1
Essential Elements 2000 Book 1
Concert attire: dress clothes (no tennis shoes, jeans, or t-shirts)

Choir
Students will need nice clothes and shoes that are all black for concert attire. This could be a button-up shirt and long pants, a dress with black leggings or tights, a shirt and skirt with black leggings or tights, a button-up shirt and long pants with a tie and/or a vest/suit jacket. All shoes should be black flats/dress shoes that are not heels or sneakers. 

Learning Strategies

Orchestra
Essential Technique for Strings 1, 2, or 3 (specific to the instrument your child plays and the orchestra class)
Concert dress: solid black pants or skirt (below the knees) with solid black shirt or blouse
Folding music stand
Violin/viola shoulder bar
Cell/bass rock stop

Request from the counseling department: If you have any tinker, fidget, or stress toys you are able to donate to the counselors, our students would appreciate it! We will also gladly accept tissue box donations.
